Designing a sign-up and payment flow for Happynizr
Role
UX & Visual Designer (1-person project)
Duration
4 months (January - April 2023)
Target group
First-time & upgrading Happynizr users
The challenge
Happynizr is a startup SASS company that provides forms, surveys, and feedback software to their clients (B2B). When they approached me, their product was like a car with no doors; you couldn't get in even if you wanted to. So, I rolled up my sleeves to craft the missing links: a welcoming sign-up sequence and a no-fuss purchasing flow. Because really, what’s the use of a good tool if you can’t even get your hands on it?

5-step conversion process
Step 1 - Creating an Account
A conversion-focused landing page that directs users' attention directly to the desired action.
Step 2 - Dashboard Notification
Keeps the user informed about when their trial is ending and encourages them toward the next step of the process without being demanding.
Step 3 - Plan Options
This page allows users to select an option tailored to them and provides precise information (via hovering over the ? icon) about what they will receive.
Step 4 - Information Input
Keep the user in the tunnel sequence to guide them through the purchase process. Ask for as little information as possible and provide as much guidance as needed.
Step 5 - Payment
Offer plentiful payment methods and assure secure handling of the payment. Remind them of any previously filled information.
No-fuss confirmation notification
Conclusion
Learnings
1. It's surprisingly (and scarily) easy to unknowingly slip into ethical grey areas when designing a checkout flow. Always be sure to get a second opinion and test your designs every step of the way.
2. Your client is also your target group. Make sure to give them brief summaries of your work instead of delving deep into technicalities unless asked.
